The month of May is a very busy month for me as there are five family birthday’s including my daughter Katelyn (she turned 2). I didn’t get photos of all the cards I made but I did take a photo of a card I made for a friend whose birthday is also in May. I used the Vintage Vogue set (p16 Mini) and made a spring card. The card sits flat in the envelope but springs open and stands up when you take it out.
I also travelled to Sydney last weekend for my first Stampin’ Up! Convention. I had a great time and met some really lovely people. I got heaps of inspiration so I hope to do some regular posts in the coming weeks to show you my latest projects that have been inspired from convention.

Happy Mother’s Day!! I hope that all of you are getting as spoilt as me today!
My card today is for my mum! Now that I am a mother I appreciate her more than ever!! Mum also enjoys making cards so I needed to ensure I made a card with the wow factor. So I chose the Rose is a Rose (p 78 IB&C) stamp set. There are so many different flower options to choose from in this set! I did lots of cutting out with my paper snips and I masked the small flowers in the background when I added the leaves. I stamped the sentiment on vellum and used pop-up glue-dots to raise it. The vellum gave a nice ’see through’ look but by raising it avoided the words getting too lost in the strong background colours.

This card I made for my brother-in-law: Happy Birthday Craig!! I cased the card from the Simply Sent Card Elements: Flower Power page 140 of the Idea Book & catalogue (IB&C). Copying a card design is often a quick and easy way to make a card in a hurry. I used the Circle Circus stamp set (p104 IB&C) as it is a great set to use for male cards. Did you notice the staple on the card? This was part of the design but is also a cheap way to add another embellishment to your cards.
