Happy Birthday Tania

Today’s card is for my wonderful downline Tania. Tania celebrated her birthday this week.

I used the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Papers (p129 IB&C) as this is one of Tania’s favourite papers.  Tania is also a fantastic quilter and loves her pearls so I had to incorporate these into the card too!

I used this week’s Just Add Ink 106 – Sketch Challenge for my layout out.

• Card: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade

The Paper Players Design Team Call

The Paper Players are looking for two more Design Team members for their March, April and May challenges.  This post is my submission to be considered for a Design Team position.

My name is Deb Fearns.  I have always enjoyed different types crafts but I took up card making as a hobby when I was first introduced to Stampin’ Up! in 2007.  I am now completely addicted to making cards and 3D projects so I joined Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator in 2009.  I have two young children (3 & 6), a casual office job and regularly do volunteer work at my children schools.

I would love to be on a design team!  I still remember the excitement of entering into my first blog challenge just over 2 years ago!  I now regularly enter into blog challenges because it inspires and challenges my creativity – plus it is so much fun!  The opportunity to be a design team member and work alongside some very talented crafters would be an amazing experience.  I think it would also extend my creativity and add to my crafting skills.

CCMC190 and Paper Players Challenge #83

Today’s card is for two challenges this week: Create with Connie & Mary Sketch Challenge #190 and Paper Players Challenge #83 – CAS Masculine Theme.  Initially I was just working on a card for the Paper Players Challenge using The Open Seas stamp set (p18 Mini) but it wasn’t coming together how I wanted it too.  Then I saw the sketch challenge for Create with Connie & Mary and this card came together really quickly!

I then decided to go back to the card I was originally working on and give it another go… still not that happy with it… too much stamping on the left.. what do you think?  I was trying to keep the card simple and quick but it has taken me longer to make this card than the first one..

• Ink:  Not Quiet Navy
• Accessories/Tools:  snail, dimensionals, paper cutter, bone folder, sponges, paper snips, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Crop-a-dile, brass eyelet (retired), word window punch, decorative label punch, Designer Series Paper: Nautical Expedition.

 

Clean and Simple – The Open Sea

This is a Clean and Simple card using The Open Sea stamp set (p18 mini).  I used the masking technique to create the strip of stamping along the top.

On 17 March 2012,  I am joining forces with a local group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, Avid Inkers, to present The Nautical Expedition Stamp Camp.  At this stamp camp you will receive tuition on how to make five cards using The Open Sea Stamp Set and learn how to use the Heat Tool with clear embossing powder.

Copying Stampin’ Up!

My card today is not my original design! Today’s card comes from My Favourite Ideas project gallery that you can find on my official Stampin’ Up! Website.  Stampin’ Up! regularly adds projects to the gallery and provides information on the products used.  Great place to get some inspiration.

Did you notice how well the Birthday Wishes sentiment stands out on the designer series paper?  The sentiment was embossed using white embossing powder and the heat tool.  I also embossed the ship using black embossing powder and the heat tool.

Thinking of You…

Today’s card is for a friend and fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator who recently had to have surgery.  I choose the card colours from this week’s The Friday Mashup! blog challenge of “Cherry Cobbler, Regal Rose & Whisper White“.  However, I have missed the cut off time to link the card into the challenge – it has been a busy week!

The card layout was based on Splitcoaststampers SC370 card layout:

The Open Sea

Today’s card uses one of my favourite stamp sets from the current Summer Mini Catalogue is The Open Sea stamp set (p18) and it coordinates perfectly with the Designer Series Paper Nautical Expedition (p19).

I did some fussy cutting of the sails and the water to give the image some dimension.  It is hard to see in the picture but I also sponged clouds behind the ship.  Here is a close up:

Happy Birthday Kate!

Today’s post is a birthday card I made for one of my Stampin’ Up! team members – Kate!

There is only a little bit of stamping on the card as I mainly used the Designer Series Paper Beau Chateau (p128 IB&C).  I was able to cut the cute pretty little flowers and the rooster from the papers.  Here is a close up:

With Sympathy

Today’s card is another request from my mother-in-law to make a sympathy card.  I have used the new Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Papers Everyday Elegance and Neutrals Collection Paper Stack (p130 IB&C).
