Rose is a Rose – Vintage Style

Just Add Ink Challenge #14 this week is to create something vintage.  I have used the a Rose is a Rose (p 78 IB&C) stamp set to create the two flowers.  It is a Two-Step stamp set so I stamped the lighter background image in Regal Rose twice onto Very Vanilla card stock.  This is why one of the roses is a bit lighter in colour as I wanted slightly different coloured roses.  I then lined up my next image with the stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the laying darker image on top with Rose Red ink.  I used my bone folder to distress some of the edges of the roses and around some of the card stock.  I am really happy with how the card came together – what do you think?

Fast and Fun Notes Baby Card

My friend had her 3rd child – Jack on Monday 19 April.  This is a photo of the card I made for her.  I used the BigShot with the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Type Junior Alphabet set (p10 Autumn-Winter Mini) to personalise the card.

Sanded Background Stamp

I have a new favourite stamp – Sanded (p109 IB&C).  It is what I used as the sanded background on this card.  Just look at the size of the stamp sitting under the card – it is bigger than the card!  I am excited as I have never owned a stamp this BIG!

The stamp arrived in the post this week and I couldn’t wait to use it but where to start.  So I checked out the Just Add Ink Challenge for this week.  It was a colour challenge to use Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Barely Banana so this is what I come up with.  See the challenge details at: http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2010/04/just-add-ink-13.html

The Lion is from the Wild About You stamp set (p60 IB&C).  You can’t tell from the picture but the Lion’s head has been raised by stamping the image a second time and cutting it out with paper snips.  Then pop it up by using a dimensional.

Welcome to my Stampin’ Up! Blog

Hello and welcome to my blog!

This is my first blog entry!!  I decided recently that a blog would be a great place to share the things I have made and hopefully inspire others to create.  I hope to blog regularly so come back often to check out my creations, find out about classes or see the card/projects I have submitted to challenges.

I used the Stampin’ Up! BigShot Top Note Die and Scallop Envelope Die to create this cute little bag with matching envelope.  I have used a faux suede technique to give the bag the suede designer look.  I love this little bag as it is a great size to fill with chocolates or a small gift for someone’s birthday.
