Super Owl

I have been playing with the new Two-Step Owl extra-large punch (p146 IB&C) and came up with this card today.  I would like to say it is an original design as I have never seen the owl punch used like this. But with so many different punch art ideas out there who knows… but for now I will claim it as mine.

All the owl parts are from the owl punch except the wings (they from the Two-Step Bird Extra-Large punch).  The red cape at the back is two of the little vests you get with the punch.

It is a little hard to see in the photo but I used bashful blue ink, scallop circle punch and a sponge to add some clouds at the back of the owl.

With Sympathy

I needed to make a Sympathy card this week to give to a friend.  I used two of the stamps from the new Growing Green stamp set (p 78 IB&C).  I then used my aqua painter with chocolate chip ink to watercolour the flowers… I think I need a bit more of practice but happy with how it  turned out.  The Just Add Ink Challenge #35 this week is Just Add Sympathy so I have entered this card into the challenge.

Make & Takes from Launch Party…

This card and box is was what everyone got to make at my new catalogue Launch Party (plus I filled up the box with some goodies to take home).  Everyone was keen to for me to share the instructions for the box so here they are…

I originally saw the box on Angie Kennedy Jada (an American demonstrator) blog site.  Angie has done a great video of how the box gets put together however she uses American sized paper and imperial measurements…  so I adjusted the measurements to suit an A4 sheet and metric measurements.  I suggest you watch Angie’s video (Click HERE) on how to put the box together but use my measurements below:

Score A4 sheet (portrait) at 6cm and 15cm, then turn (landscape) and score at 12cm and 18cm.

Optional, I added a lid to my box with a velcro dot to hold it down.  The lid measures 8cm by 5cm and score (portrait) at 2 cm.  Attach the 2cm length to the back of the box.

Supplies I used to make my box:

  • Apple Blossoms stamp set (hostess only)
  • Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set
  • Paper: Naturals Ivory, Chocolate Chip & Riding Hood Red
  • Classic Ink:  Red Riding Hood & Chocolate Chip
  • Accessories: Word Window Punch, Dimensionals, Snail & Sticky Strip
  • Greenhouse Gala Notebook

I made this Notebook Cover using Stampin’ Up! new Greenhouse Gala Designer Series paper (p125 IB&C).   The letters, hearts and button shape were all made using the Big Shot and the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Dies (p152 IB&C).

Here is a peak at the inside of the Notebook.  The pen inside has been decorated with the same Designer Series paper to make it part of a matching set.  I used a small velcro dot to hold the cover together.

    Hope you like it.
