Simply Stampin’ Challenge #63 – Royally Regal

This week’s challenge at Simply Stampin‘ is to make a project based on a Royally Regal theme.  I decided to use the Rue Des Fleurs stamp set (p16 mini) and make a vintage card.

I recently attended Australia’s Stampin’ Up! Convention (will blog more about that soon!) and have been inspired by the so many different ideas that I saw!  There was a fabulous workshop WOW by Theresa who showed us how to use snips of ribbon tied together.  Amanda from Stampin’ Up! Sydney office showed us how to make colour splotches on the paper using an aqua pen, reinker and some rubbing alcohol.  I don’t think this was the exact formula but it is what I used to make my colour splotches.  I realise now that I should have been taking more notes rather than talking with fellow demonstrators.

Here is a closer look at the gorgeous ribbon tie with the Trinket Crown (p 141 IB&C) and coloured splotches:

The card above was actually my second card for this challenge.  The first card I made used the crown from the Extreme Elements stamp set (p60 IB&C) which always makes me think teenager.  After making the card I found the crown trinket and got the vintage idea in my head…

Anyway, thought I would share my card with you:

Cheers Deb

Happy Birthday Gail!

It is my sister’s birthday today – Happy Birthday Gail!  This is the card I made with an extra gift attached.  The flower centre is actually a decorated hair band.  I was going to make it a brooch but after a discussion with my husband we decided she isn’t a brooch person so I made it a hair band instead.  The brooch was made using the Big Shot and the Circles #2 die (p153 IB&C) with an Antique Brad in the centre (p139 IB&C).  I got the idea when I saw some beautiful handmade brooches made by Kelly Hanson.  Here is a closer look at it:

I used the stamp set Friends Never Fade (p71 IB&C) and the Love Letter Designer Series Paper (p125 IB&C).  This paper will retire at end of 31 August!  The sentiment is from On Your Birthday (p102 IB&C). I wanted to make sure that when the hair band was removed from the card that the card would still look at a nice card and not like something was missing from it so the hair band was only attached by a clip (p139 IB&C).  Here is the card without the hair band attached:

Now the card was way too thick for an envelope so I made a box for it:

I hope she likes it!

Nature Walk – PPA90 Sketch Challenge

I was inspired to play along with the Pals Paper Arts PPA90 Sketch Challenge (click ‘here’ to see the other entries).   As I am loving my new Nature Walk stamp set (p14 mini) I decided to use this set.  I just love the butterfly! I popped up the wings by stamping them again, colouring them in and cutting them out before attaching them back on with mini glue dots.  Take a closer look at it:

I will post soon some more the cards I made over the last couple of days with this stamp set.

Cheers Deb

Elegant Soiree Clock

Do you like my new clock?  It sits proudly in my craft room reminding me I should stop crafting and go to bed before midnight!

I had a lot of fun making this project.  I purchased it as a clock making kit so I just had to work out what papers I wanted to cover it in.  I used Stampin’ Up! designer series paper Elegant Soiree (p44 IB&C).  I then used my BigShot (p150 IB&C) for the Butterflies and numbers.  The flowers were made using the Boho Blossoms Extra-large punch (p146 IB&C).

Teenage Notebook

I recently made this journal cover for a friend’s daughter who turned 13.   I used the stamp set Extreme Elements (p52 IB&C) and also did some spritzing with a black Stampin’ Write marker and the Color Spritzer Tool (p 143 IB&C).  The name has been cut out using the Big Shot with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet die (p152 IB&C).

Here is a close up of the name:

Happy Birthday Kate!

Today is my friend (and downline) birthday and here is the card I made for her.

I used the Big Shot Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die (p 154 IB&C) to cut the butterfly out of Specialty Designer Series Paper Presto Patterns (p10 Summer mini).  This paper has a glossy design that is revealed when you add ink to the paper.  I applied pink pirouette to the paper with a sponge dauber to reveal the glossy words on the paper.

I used two stamp sets on this card: Vintage Vogue (p157 IB&C) and On Your Birthday (p102 IB&C).

Leave a comment or email if you want to know anymore details about the card.

Surfing Dude

I decided to participate in another Just Add Ink challenge – they are so much fun!  The challenge this week is a clean and simple sketch layout – click here to see the Just Add Ink Challenge #45.  The surfing dude comes from the Seaworthy stamp set (p73 IB&C) and the sentiment from On Your Birthday stamp set (p102).  I coloured him in using Stampin’ Write Markers: Bashful Blue & Pumpkin Pie.  I don’t have the Crumb Cake marker so I used my blender pen with my Crumb Cake ink.

I also used a couple of new products from the Summer Mini Catalogue to be released on 1 December.  So make sure you come back to my blog on Wednesday to see check out the mini catalogue for yourself and see all the fantastic products coming!

Cheers Deb Fearns

Christmas Cards

I recently had a request to make some personalised Christmas Cards (note in the photos I have blurred out the names).  It was fun to make up a number of large cards as this size gives you more room to add different things.  The size of these cards are 14cm x 14cm.

I used the Jolly Holiday papers (p126 IB&C) and stuck with the colours from this paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.  The stamp set I used were Contempo Christmas (p23 IB&C) and Dasher (p161 IB&C).

Here are the rest the cards:

I now just need to finish off my own Christmas Cards!

Elements of Style

I have three cards to share with you today that have all been stamped with the Elements of Style (p99 IB&C) stamp set.  This first card sparkles (not that you can tell in the photo) as I used the new Shimmer Paint White Frost (p143 IB&C).  I put a small amount of the paint in a mist bottle with some ISOCOL alcohol rubbing solution and sprayed it on the card stock.  It looks beautiful!

This card I used the new Scallop Trim Border punch (p148 IB&C) to create the trim to the right side of the card.

For this last card, I added butterflies that were embossed and cut using the Bigshot and the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (p151 IB&C).  How teeny tiny is that butterfly above the words – so cute!

Also, I still have some spots left in my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack for this Sunday 10am (see post here).  Contact me ASAP if you would like to come along.

Greenhouse Gala Notebook

I made this Notebook Cover using Stampin’ Up! new Greenhouse Gala Designer Series paper (p125 IB&C).   The letters, hearts and button shape were all made using the Big Shot and the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Dies (p152 IB&C).

Here is a peak at the inside of the Notebook.  The pen inside has been decorated with the same Designer Series paper to make it part of a matching set.  I used a small velcro dot to hold the cover together.

Hope you like it.

Cheers Deb
